RESEARCH AREA
Dance, HCI, Audience, Liminal Experience
Youlee Kim is a master’s student at TX Lab, Graduate School of Metaverse, KAIST. With a decade of training in classical ballet and a bachelor’s degree in dance theory from Korea National University of Arts, she has a strong foundation in both the practice and theory of dance. She previously worked as a performance producer at LG Arts Center Seoul, one of Korea’s leading contemporary performance venues, gaining experience in how performing arts engage with audiences.
Her research integrates dance with emerging technologies, particularly HCI and VR, to explore new aesthetic possibilities in performance. By capturing the physical and physiological data from dancers, she aims to artistically reinterpret it and provide audiences with a liminal experience that fosters a shared embodied experience between dancers and the audience.
