Watching Cine Forest in Seongnam

Members of KAIST TX Lab attended Professor Jinjoon Lee’s live performance Cine Forest: Awakening Bloom at Bundang Central Park in Seongnam. As the world’s first attempt to transform an entire forest into an immense open-air media theatre, the performance used 16 ultra-high-resolution projection mappings to turn the contours of the landscape and the delicate textures of leaves into a living canvas. Audiences were immersed in a “Media Symphony,” where the natural soundscape of wind, insects, and flowing water intertwined with a full orchestra, a thousand-voice civic choir, and newly composed works created in collaboration with artificial intelligence. Experiencing the moment when the forest itself seemed to breathe and bloom with images, our lab members were profoundly inspired by this unique convergence of nature, humanity, and technology.
